PROCLAMATION NO. 271

DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR

WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends that the City of Pagadian, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, be declared under a state of calamity due to the big fire that gutted the City’s commercial district;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the existence of a state of calamity in the City of Pagadian, Province of Zamboanga del Sur.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
