PROCLAMATION NO. 331
DECLARING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1994, AS A SPECIAL DAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY
WHEREAS, the February 22-25, 1986 EDSA Revolution restored democratic institutions and ushered in meaningful political, social, and economic reforms;
WHEREAS, the triumph of this Revolution was anchored upon People Power, the spontaneous demonstration of the citizens’ solidarity in seeking to transform Philippine society and chart a new course for their nation by linking arms and courageously asserting their democratic rights;
WHEREAS, February 25 is an opportune occasion for the Filipino people to reflect and celebrate this historic day;
WHEREAS, to celebrate this finest moment in our contemporary history as a nation and to enable every Filipino to participate in the commemorative celebrations, it is necessary to declare Friday, February 25, 1994, as a special day (non-working holiday) throughout the country;
WHEREAS, February 25, 1994 has been declared as National People’s Day when all provincial, city and municipal governments will conduct People’s Day activities in their respective areas, pursuant to Administrative Order No. 107-A.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, February 25, 1994, as a special day throughout the country.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
