PROCLAMATION NO. 477

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Philippine Olympic Committee duly organized to serve provide competent and qualified athletes for international competitions;

WHEREAS, to effectively carry out its noble objectives and successfully implement its national programs, such as in the selection, training, and handling of national players in the state of preparedness and competence in the world sports and games, it needs financial and moral support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Olympic Committee to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one year, effective upon the promulgation of this proclamation.

That I call upon every citizen and corporations to contribute generously to this endeavor in order that our Country will be ably represented in the international competitions that are essential in the promotion of world peace and understanding.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed
