PROCLAMATION NO. 553

AUTHORIZING ZONTA FOUNDATION PHILIPPINES, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, ZONTA Foundation Phils., Inc., is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of 38 Zonta Clubs in the country;

WHEREAS, the foundation set up Garments Training and Livelihood Centers in Marikina, Taguig, Makati, Pasig, and Muntinlupa and have trained more than 2,000 women in industrial sewing skills that led to their employment in garment factories in Metro Manila, EPZA in Bataan, and in Middle East;

WHEREAS, in order to carry out its noble objectives, the Foundation needs the financial and moral support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize ZONTA Foundation Phils., Inc., to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the promulgation of this proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
