PROCLAMATION NO 958

DECLARING THE MONTH OF APRIL 1997, AS NATIONAL CHILD HEALTH MONTH

WHEREAS, the health of the child will bring about the strength of the nation;

WHEREAS, the health of its children is the nation’s wealth;

WHEREAS, the measure of a nation’s progress is not to be found solely in its Gross National Product (GNP) nor in its infrastructure, but also in the health of its children;

WHEREAS, the enhancement of public awareness of the importance of child health in nation building is strongly needed:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of April, 1997, as “National Child Health Month”.

I call upon all health and health-related agencies of the government, private institutions and associations to give the observance of the month their full support.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
