DECLARING SEPTEMBER 1997 AS “KARATE MONTH” THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

WHEREAS

, the Philippines shall host the 6th Karate World Cup on 07-15 September 1997;

WHEREAS

, the 6th Karate World Cup is the biggest international karate event to be held in the country this year and in Asia for the first time; and,

WHEREAS

, this international event is an excellent opportunity to highlight the global competitiveness of our country in the area of sports;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS

, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare September this year as “Karate Month” throughout the country.
