PROCLAMATION NO. 1077

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 10 TO 15, 1997, AS PURCHASING AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Purchasing and Materials Management Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PMMAP), is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the country’s top corporations;

WHEREAS, this November, the PMMAP will celebrate its 29th Anniversary in Manila with the theme: “Global Supply Chain Management: An Asia Pacific Perspective”;

WHEREAS, in line with the goals of Philippines 2000, purchasing and materials managers and PMMAP must help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services, for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 10 to 15, 1997, as Purchasing and Materials Management Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the SEAL of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
