Greetings from the Philippines!

This is your President Fidel V. Ramos, and your kababayan.

The Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Philip Ella Juico, is there now to present to you our Philippine Sports Flagship Project called “Partnership Program for Sport-for-All (PPSA)”.

The program basically aims to institutionalize and expand the relationship between government organizations and non-government organizations engaged in sports and to increase the level of participation by the corporate private sector through financial and logistical support for the promotion and development of physical fitness and sports programs of my administration.

With your involvement in physical fitness and sports development, I am sure that whatever financial help we can give to our Filipino athletes and your fellow Filipinos back home who wish to engage in physical fitness and sports and bring honor to the motherland will constitute a lasting legacy to your country.

Mahal kong mga kababayan at mga kapatid, I am sure that my Sport-for-All vision will only be realized if we work together and support one another toward the achievement of this ultimate goal and I would like to inform you all — that one of my fondest dreams is see every Filipino — young and old, boy and girl, able or disabled — actively participating in fitness, recreational and sports programs.

Thus, your all-out support for our Partnership Program for Sport-for-All is urgently needed for us to fully implement our national sports development program.

Twelve of our best national athletes will be competing in the centennial Olympic games in Atlanta in July 1996, and would gladly welcome the much-needed support that you can give the players to boost their morale and aim for the gold. Allow me again to personally thank you in advance for your concern for Philippine sports and the Filipino youth.

Maraming salamat at mabuhay tayong lahat!
