PROCLAMATION NO. 928

DECLARING NOVEMBER 1997 AS ASIAN ADVERTISING MONTH

WHEREAS,

the Philippine Advertising Industry, in its desire to contribute to the forthcoming Centennial Celebration, is hosting the most prestigious Asian advertising event, ADASIA ’97, from 12-15 November 1997;

WHEREAS,

the Philippines will be hosting advertising executives from over sixteen countries in Asia;

WHEREAS,

the timing of this event is doubly significant as it will be held on the eve of the nation’s Centennial Celebration and will focus the world’s attention on the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS,

President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare November 1997 as Asian Advertising Month. To ensure the success of this worthy private sector undertaking, the Departments of Tourism, Interior and Local Government, Transportation and Communication are tasked to support and actively participate in the preparation and implementation of said event.
