PROCLAMATION NO. 918

DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER 1996, AS NATIONAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES’ WEEK

WHEREAS, efficient government administration depends greatly on the performance and dedication of government officials and employees;

WHEREAS, it is necessary that government employees be encouraged to achieve efficiency in the public service;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper to focus public attention on the role played by state workers in the social, economic, and political development of the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the first week of December 1996 as National Government Employees’ Week under the auspices of the Philippine Government Employees Association and other government employees organizations.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
