PROCLAMATION NO. 981

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 20 TO 26 OF EVERY YEAR AS “GOVERNMENT PHOTOGRAPHERS WEEK”

WHEREAS,

the Government Photographers Association of the Philippines (GPAP), an organization of photographers from various government agencies, aims to promote and record government projects and activities for posterity;

WHEREAS,

GPAP will hold its Government Photographers Anniversary Foundation on 26 April 1997, which will be highlighted by photo contest, photo exhibit from the different government agencies, seminar-workshop on photography and other activities related to photographic technology;

WHEREAS,

there is a need to focus national attention on the important role of photographers in the society;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS,

President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from April 20 to 26 of every year, as “Government Photographers Week” under the auspices of the Government Photographers Association of the Philippines (GPAP).
