DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 25 TO 31, 1997 AS “DIRECT SELLING WEEK”

WHEREAS

, it is one of the avowed policies of the government to advance economic growth by promoting expanded trade and commerce;

WHEREAS

, it is necessary to recognize the important role production executives play in the development of our economy;

WHEREAS

, there is a need to focus national attention on the contribution of direct selling industry in boosting economic growth;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS

, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from August 25 to 31, 1997 as “Direct Selling Week” in the Philippines.
