PROCLAMATION NO. 1110

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 2 TO 8, 1997, AS “CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK”

WHEREAS, the government recognizes the important role of civil engineers in nation-building;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE) will hold its annual national convention on November 6 to 8, 1997, in Manila;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus public attention on the importance of the Civil Engineering profession and highlight its role in nation-building;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 2 to 8, 1997, as “Civil Engineering Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE).

I call upon all civil engineers and students to give the observance of the week their full support.
