PROCLAMATION NO. 860

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 3 TO 9, 1996 AS “CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK”

WHEREAS,

the government recognizes the important role of civil engineers in nation-building;

WHEREAS,

the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE) will hold its annual convention on November 7 to 9, 1996, in Manila;

WHEREAS,

there is a need to focus national attention on the importance of the Civil Engineering profession and its role in nation-building;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS,

President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 3 to 9, 1996, as “Civil Engineering Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE).

I call upon all civil engineers, educators and students to give the observance of the week their full support.
