DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF MAY OF EVERY YEAR

AS “NATIONAL PUBLIC MARKET WEEK”

WHEREAS

, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, through its Public Market Development Program Office is embarking on a Public Market Program to rationalize market development in the country; and

WHEREAS

, due recognition should be accorded to the vital role of public markets in the development of rural and urban economies.

NOW, THEREFORE

, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the Third Week of May of Every Year as

“National Public Market Week”.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government shall be the lead implementing agency of this Proclamation.
