PROCLAMATION NO. 1243

DECLARING TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 1998, AS A SPECIAL DAY

THROUGHOUT THE PHILIPPINES

WHEREAS, the Presidential inaugural ceremonies for the incoming President of the Republic of the Philippines will be held on June 30, 1998;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that all citizens of our country be given full opportunity to witness and welcome this historic event in the life of the nation.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, June 30, 1998, as a special day throughout the Philippines.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and ninety eight.
