The advent of radio stands as one of the revolutionary milestones of the 20th century. In the midst of new technology and the approach of the new millennium, radio remains a powerful medium, a bridge of social change, especially in our country•

That was the same vision that inspired Henry R. Canoy to set up his first radio station in Cagayan de Oro City on august 28, 1952• It was the beginning of what is today, Radio Mindanao Network (RMN), a network of community radio stations built on a great tradition of public service•

Today, RMN is the largest radio network in the country. It is as dynamic as ever as our democratic ideals continue to be nurtured by a responsible broadcast industry that seeks to inform in the name of truth•

It is, therefore, with great pride that I congratulate the men and women of Radio Mindanao Network as they celebrate 45 years of dedicated public service•

As RMN goes beyond radio into the new frontiers of communications, I am confident that RMN will continue its commitment to nation-building•

Mabuhay ang RMN!

`Mabuhay ang Philippines 2000!!!
